Argentina: Local Cordoba man invents affordable 'hoverboard wheelchair'

Argentine entrepreneur Abel Bertini presented his invention - a wheelchair powered by a Smart Balance 'hoverboard' - in Cordoba on Monday.

SOT, Abel Bertini, creator of wheelchair powered by Smart Balance (Spanish): "I am Abel Bertini, I live in Cordoba, Argentina. And I have invented an electric wheelchair powered by a Smart Balance. That is the novelty and innovation I patented."

SOT, Abel Bertini, creator of wheelchair powered by Smart Balance (Spanish): "The chair turns around 360 degrees, it has light load, it works on the street, pavement, ascends ramps. It has equal, even better features than other wheelchairs. On top of it, a characteristic that only few chairs have, it is foldable and transportable in a small car."

SOT, Abel Bertini, creator of wheelchair powered by Smart Balance (Spanish): "The truth is that it is something nice, because I know it will be used. It is going to be useful for a lot of people that do not have access to a wheelchair with all the features this has, because of the high prices on the market. This is going to be an affordable chair, with good price, so people could buy and use it. So it can solve part of their problems."
